YES! I hear so many people (and this was my own rhetoric after graduating) banging on about their calling. I told one of my friends, after her third complete career change, just to follow SOMETHING but the response wasn’t as enlightening as I’d have hoped. People just don’t want to hear that they have to work flipping hard to get good. I find this so hard to accept at times but I learned this from Tony Robbins. He said that, in order to experience satisfaction in our career, we must work hard, get good and enjoy the fruits of our labour. Many people think we need passion before discipline but it’s the other way around. Thanks for writing this!
